After 3 heart attacks, a failed stent procedure, sextuple bypass and valve repair had me hospitalized for 3 weeks – I was offered home care. Terrified, because at that point I was so weak I couldn’t lift myself from the toilet. With no support at home I knew I wouldn’t be able to live independently. Reedy River offered to take me, it was a godsend. After 3 more weeks of rest and rehab, I was finally ready to go home. I’m so thankful for the care I received here. No, it’s not a resort and the facility is older, probably understaffed and in less than perfect repair, but again a godsend and paradise for me. The staff here have a very difficult job and they do the best they can. A place like this is so important for the community and the SC assembly should make sure it has adequate funding.
